A True Conscious Artist; Demi Lovato

Being amongst a spiritual community I have revered, encouraged and blogged about accomplishments of others because they have inspired me. I promote and blog through this site out of my heart because I love to share with others what gets me up. What helps me to feel good about myself, determined and confident. This is one of my labors of love. Much like a musician with their music.
Just like a musician you can do your dream as a hobbyist or a budding professional. Though when you go into the professional realm, people will do things for fame or to further their career that may not match up with their true essence of their love for that passion. This can happen with almost a guarantee every time in the music industry. Well all parts of the media industry for that matter. And I have seen friends and acquaintances sacrifice some of their purity to get ahead. That can hinger their creation and or themselves. I can go on and on about the negative, manipulative, dirty, and un-godly energy swirling around the entertainment industry, but I won't cuz you get it. Its really hard as an artist to stay pure to your heart creation while still paying your bills and eating. Also once successful one can have the same struggle to keep their creation in the highest light energy field from praying mantises who want to put their own energy spin on what the creation should be like.

A Conscious Artist is about staying true to you no matter what. As that is what connects and grows an audience. Being a true Conscious Artist is not just about having inspirational lyrics set to music people will actually listen to. A Conscious Artist has the following.

A real connection to their audience.
Vulnerability.
Authenticity.
Adds value to their fan's lives.
Walks their talk.
Humility.

These artists are not only found outside the mainstream. My honorary TRUE CONSCIOUS ARTIST AWARD goes to the MTV Documented, Tabloid Scrutinized, Disney Star, DEMI LOVATO.
I have been singing her song from hearing it on a top 40 station for months without knowing who she is. I found out, and I like!

From growing up in the spotlight with Barney, Disney channel shows and movies, Demi caved under the pressure system of hollywood. The pressure to perform, stay skinny and be a role model (or false prophet). Well now she has earned her role model status by admitting and openly talking about her struggles, with bullying, anorexia, bulimia, depression and cutting. She went on talk shows and even had an MTV Documentary about her personal issues showcased to her fans and the world in hopes that speaking out could give a voice and a chance for others to get better.
This is truly an inspirational artist to be so forthcoming with things most people would try to avoid talking about, especially in the public eye.

Within the conscious community I have seen most people wanting to only talk about the positive. In any community really we want to portray ourselves like we have it all together. "How are you doing today?" "Great" - we say after we had an existential breakdown in our car about the purpose of our life, before we saw that person at our local health food store. That leaves no room for a real connection, community, or help. It leaves the most compelling thing about you tucked away in the corner collecting dust or worse mold! And we're allergic to mold! Conforming to the mold and fitting into one. It's just not for us!

It's a little counter conscious to say but it's true. Revealing these types of things, pain, discomfort, and distorters actually doesn't harm you, it helps you. Revealing is to put in the light. When things are looked at long enough in the light and at the right angle, they can become clear. You can come to a clear understanding of why you went though that, why you have been kept clear of certain people, why you feel a certain way, it's all ok. That is exactly Demi's message. For revealing her secretes hasn't harmed her, its helped her, in recovery, connecting to her fans that feel similar and ultimately furthering her career. In the right light, the dark can become bright. So say what might be scary to say. It can save you and your career.

So with your creations, people, please, don't sugar coat it! Don't let someone else change your vision or misrepresent your work, or under represent it! Be you, be bold, be brave! Don't cave!

My fav Demi song "Together."

You're Worth More Than Gold

The Super Positive Anthem "Gold" by Britt Nicole is for more than just "all the girls and boys all over the world." It's an anthem for anyone who needs an encouraging reminder of their self worth! The video depicts the troubles kids go through in school from self destructive acts to bulling. The music video is like watching  PSA in Candyland. Lucky this public service announcement has a hopeful ending through its message "whatever you've been told, your worth more gold." Your worth is more valuable then this world can measure. Knowing that, it truly is our Time to Shine!

Loving Lotus

Christina Aguilera is not normally an artist that comes to mind when writing about Conscious Music. Growing up listening to mainstream pop music I loved to dance to Christina's music and imagine I was a singer like her. My friends and I even got so close to almost meet her backstage at a concert, but we soon learned that a gifted used meet and greet pass for the opening band doesn't get you in to meet the headlining artist. Oops, we were fifteen.
Reflecting on the music I was idolizing, now I would not let myself listen to it let alone a 15 year old girl. With her first single "Genie in a Bottle" it was cute and catchy enough to overlook the underling message of subservient femininity to dominating masculinity.

With her Lotus Album I actually see a flower growing through the crack of the asphalt.  To break down that metaphor lets look at the true spelling of ASS FAULT. Who is to blame, or better yet where does the program come from that runs through the music industry of demeaning the feminine? From some ASS hole, that's who's FAULT it is. From a demented masculine energy that has been controlling the mainstream music industry, that only creates successes out of those that follow their distorted agenda to degrade the feminine. Whether an artists knows it our not they have to play that game to be successful. Christina played it and is still playing it through even this album. With the super catchy cute song "Your Body." It's actually a great song when you hold it in the purity of loving someone and appreciating the ability to give them love through their body. Ahh that's an amazing and beautiful feeling, isn't it? To love someone with all your heart and to be able to express that on the physical plain is awesome!!!

Yet in Christina's music video for the song she murders every guy she comes in contact with but only after getting her sexual satisfaction from them. It went from in her early career, giving her power away to men to now having so much power over them that she doesn't need them and they are disposable that she can express her heartlessness over it. That is a demented femininity that was set forth by the ASS FAULT to be bought by young teens coming into their femininity to distort it before they even know what they goddesses essence truly is.

Yet some how within the album of Lotus I can feel what songs Christina pushed for to be on the record. I can feel her true femininity being expressed as the innate rightful goddesses she is. I hear it through "Lotus Intro," "Let There Be Love," "Make the World Move," and "Light Up the Sky."

Naming her album Lotus reveals the true aspects of femininity. The Lotus flower's meaning is one of spiritual transformation.

The Lotus Flower grows in the deep mud, far away from the sun. But, sooner or later, the Lotus reaches the light becoming the most beautiful flower ever.

I think Christina is in a great place in her career, where she can balance the dark and rise to become her own Lotus Flower. She looks beautiful in the video from the American Music Awards, below. She is portraying a health body image, loving her curves, herself and exuding self confidence, but from a true source of Femininity.

Ecstatic about +Elijah- & The Band of Light

Having known Elijah and his music for what I like to think of the start of my full conscious awakening to who I real am, I can't help but to get ecstatically excited about anything he does or puts out musically. He really is a special being, an indicator for the way our earth is evolving and loving one another. You can hear that reflected in his music. It is a healing realization massage for your ears and soul anytime you hear his music. But this album Arrival really takes it to the next level of musical evolution. Either that or these new head phones I'm listening to his new album on are making the music sound 10 times more expansive that vibrates the base throughout my soul. Either way I can't help but to cry into the full freedom of myself. His music is really a soul awakening experience. So it is time, time to Arrive with you, yourself and The Band of Light. Let it in and let your sound sing. Begin with +Elijah- and the Band of Light, it is truly an ARRIVAL!

*Now if only we can get him to create a music video then I can feature on my music video countdown, The Positive Point!

Justin Bieber at the AMA's in Los Angeles last night November 18th 2012.
Picture
Justin Bieber is pictured here through the lends of my friend, Joe Paz who just happened to be at the right place at the right time to take this photo of teen star, from the ESPN zone at the Staples Center last night in Los Angeles, California. Justin must have been on his way to a sound check or something as this was earlier in the day before the AMA's.

Now I've written about Justin Bieber in the past, about the positive aspects of his music, his faith, and how I hoped he would stay in the sweet christ like energy that he started out with. Obviously that has not been the case with the Biebs. It's hard for any teen start in music to keep there energetic intgrety within the media and music industry. There are lots of dark energies around them that can be hard to shield off. Though it can be done through a series or right choices.

But as you see Bieber here, he is not happy! Now I can see through this photo and from reading the blogs about his on-and-off again relationship with Selena Gomez, that he is clearly heartbroken. This is very unfortunate for Justin who I could see had great energy to bring the world and now I see that slipping away from him. These energies that control the music industry, celebrities, etc, can cause disturbances within the celebs personal life that they may or may not be aware of. I hope he can reconnect with his source of god and bring in that light not only through a reconciliation with his love Selena Gomez (which may have happened as they were spotted leaving the AMA's together) but through his truth of his source and living in integrity. Now that will really bring him some happiness and a long lasting relationship.

Many many blessing to Justin Bieber on his path :) Seriously pray for him, he needs it!

11:11:11 It's Time to Free Energy

"Free Energy" is by far my favorite Luminaries music video. It is edited well with great background effects that create an old style black and white news reel feel.
But that just supports the real reason why this video is so epic, the subject of the song; free energy. Upon first view I cried because of the truth and struggle of this message and the beauty of these creative people bringing light to this subject!

It may be news to some that we can actually create energy from an invisible source. This goes beyond just using environmentally friendly energy like, solar and wind. By using the eco energy to power machines that can harness an infinite source of energy pulled straight out of thin air. This is the real free energy first used and discovered by Nikola Tesla.
As the begging of the video states, "Since 1951, the government has restricted the release of nearly 5,000 technology patents that have the potential of ending many of today's greatest crises. Many of these patents relate to energy efficiency and free energy."

Restricting Free Energy is another attempt for the government and corporations to control the population. Quoting the chorus,

"Ever think what the wars are fought for?
Ever dreamed that the world could be more?"

Imagine if people generated their own power, local communities controlled their local power, residences pay very little or no utility bills. We can create that with Free Energy.

The Luminaries have captured that hope in an entertaining and informative song with a stylish eye catching video to go along with it.

The video is produced by Elevate and is cross promoted with the film Thrive which touches on the the topic of Free Energy. You can view it's release today on Elevates debut film distribution platform, PlayitForward. Look for those links in the description box of the Free Energy Video on Youtube.

For more information of Free Energy, search online for the following key words mentioned in the song:

The Wisdom of Never Give In

Musical artist, Wisdom recently debuted the music video "Never Give In" as his first single off the soon to be released album "Full Spectrum."

This song gives positive motvation to keep going in many area of life. Encouraging messages of not giving in to procrastination, fears, ungratefulness, and hardships. And instead embracing not giving up on, taking the high road, self realization, and the main theme shown within the video; true love.
The eye of wisdoms attention of never giving up on love is played by Dakini Star of Goddess Alchemy Project. Who is an amazing Conscious Artist herself, though not making a cameo on the song but instead through video. Which is a bit disappointing when seeing Miss Star in a music video, I expect to hear some fast rapping female empowered lyrics.
She will be featured in a song on the album, so we'll have to wait for that collaboration of the divine feminine and masculine working together.

"Never Give In" has a Reggae Hip-Hop feel. I commend Wisdom on creating a positively powered song with a skillfully balanced mix of reggae and hip-hop genres.

Make a Move

I came home this evening feeling very empowered and excited for my future. A song popped into my head that I had heard on a local Christian radio. I managed to remember enough lyrics to find Royal Tailor's song "Make A Move" as the find to my search on google.
Playing the song over and over has got me into a powerful state of having faith to make positive changes in my life. These changes will be literal and figurative moves in my life.
See I've been trying to balance what is expected of me and what I truly want to do my whole life. This has caused some of my creative projects and passions to be placed on the back burner.Lately I have been evaluating where I want to be and what I really want to do with my life. Through this evaluation process I am finally starting to know that I actually can attract and act on my dreams. I hope this song encourages you to do the same.

Make a Move - Lyrics
Mr. Good Intentions, so much I wanna do
My mouth just keeps on running, but I never follow through
I heard that true religion, is love with hands and feet
I wanna find my own way to reach a world in need
Yeah, I've been captured by the unimportant
Locked in, and now it's time to break free

Chorus
There's more to life
Open my eyes
Someone is needing You
So I gotta make a move
What good are words
When this world hurts
Real faith will come through
When I make a move

We don't need permission, to go outside of these doors
And dream some crazy dream no one else has dreamed before

To show love and compassion
Whatever way it may be
To put faith into action, do more than just believe
We are hope to those who have been broken
We were made to make a difference

Chorus
There's more to life
Open my eyes
Someone is needing You
So I gotta make a move
What good are words
When this world hurts
Real faith will come through
When I make a move

I’ve been captured by the unimportant
Locked in and now it’s time to break free
Now it’s time to break free

Kerrie's Key @ Be Real Oxnard

Meeting Kerrie

Picture
I was first introduced to Kerrie Roberts through her song "No Matter What" on Air 1 radio. The song carries a beautiful message of trusting in faith no matter what. I can't help myself but to sing and dance to her songs. Kerrie delivers powerful lyrics with belting vocal capabilities to make meaningful music. I was excited and determined to see her set at Be Real Oxnard. I had tried to arrange an interview with Miss Roberts but that was not in the cards for me.
Upon taking my seat at the festival I felt like I was around family. Really I felt like I already knew everyone in the venue. As I did know them, I knew them through god. We came together to sing and celebrate in a house of god and ooh did it feel good. This was way more than a musical gathering and it turned out to be a very special and important event for me to just attend, receive, step forward and believe.

Kerrie Sings "Keep Breathing"

Picture
Kerrie took to a keyboard to sing the ballad "Keep Breathing." Ths is a great song to listen to when you feel like you want to give up. This song will give you the hope to not quit and keep going with whatever goal you wish to achieve. As the chorus says, "Keep breathing, don't give up, don't give in, don't let go, no you are not done yet."
Watching Kerrie perform and singing along with her live was an amazing experience for me as I was able to see myself in her shoes. I received the knowingness that I too can be a singer spreading positive messages on stage as she was doing. I will keep breathing and singing!

Encouragement in the song "Unstoppable"

"Unstoppable" is my new favorite song of Kerrie's. This song holds the key to being unstoppable, with the powerful decree, "Slam the door on all your fears. They're not welcome here."
In the light of god you can shine through anything. Shine Bright!

Nicki Minaj's Gem

Nicki Minaj's Song "Fly" featuring Rihanna is a true Gem. Coming across a song on mainstream hip-hop radio that has the feeling of positive passion that this song has, is a rare find.

The song glistens in its lyrics.
"We come alive in a time of fear."
"I am levitation, I represent an entire generation."

And soars through the chorus.
"I cam to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive. I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise. To fly." Knowing why you are here, why you were born on this earth and what you came here to do is crucial in these times or great change. This song captures what it is to know your purpose and gives a great motivation to let it fly!
